CFNA News (all)

The Board holds periodic meetings, all of which are open to Century Farms Home owners. Below are scheduled board meetings and other CFNA events and news.

  • [02/13/2014] Patty Gustin advised that the Harbor Chase case has been scheduled for the March 4th City Council meeting.
  • [01/14/2014] View the agenda for the Harbor Chase Nursing Home meeting; John Tarantino from Cress Creek has arranged a room at the Cress Creek Country Club to facilitate a meeting between the developer of the proposed Harbor Chase nursing home and our homeowners. The meeting will be this Thursday, January 16th at 6:00 pm at the Cress Creek Country Club 1215 Royal St George Dr, Naperville, IL 60563. Neighbors are invited to attend this meeting with their questions. It is the developers intention to answer questions and address zoning issues that may make traffic and safety an issue for our homeowners. I am certain that we can ask him questions outside of this spectrum as well at this time. The developer, Charlie Jennings of Harbor Retirement Associates, will attend along with his architect and his civil engineer to answer our questions/concerns. They will bring a full set of plans and an architecture presentation board that will show the materials selected for use in construction. Charlie Jennings has been very generous with his time, reaching out to me through texting and emails. He will be traveling out of state to meet with us. I am certain that we can make it a neighborly exchange of ideas to benefit the area as a whole. --Fran Bixler

  • [7/6/2006] Nature hike in the natural areas, JULY 10th (Monday evening at 7 PM). Flowers are blooming along our natural trails in the land between the Erb Farm Court Pond and the middle pond. CF residents please feel free to enter the mowed path off William Penn Drive to the south of 1527 William Penn Drive. Diane Barbret and naturalist Sue Cravatta will acclimate residents of all ages to the plant and animal life in our little ecosystem. Wear sturdy shoes and bug repellant. Binoculars are fun too. The hike will conclude with popsicles by the oak and walnut trees between the two ponds.
  • [6/7/2006] Join the Century Farms Pond Committee in a Day of Adventure followed by Refreshments! Head out by foot to remove top floating algae, debris and trash from our neighborhood ponds. All neighbors and their children are welcome to help in cleaning up our ponds, you might even get muddy. (Parents bringing children younger than school age are asked to watch them carefully.) A word regarding wildlife during the cleanup: Leave the geese and ducks alone-especially the babies. One yesterday's walk I met six muskrats. They're very shy. Just leave them alone too! The southeast end of pond 1 and the western most portion of pond 2 have redwing blackbird nests in the trees. I imagine there may be chicks in those nests because the birds are very defensive. If they start swooping down on you, (as they did me), just run away. Participants are encouraged to stop by Pond 2 entrance afterwards for a get together, ice cold soft drinks & cold water will be served. Registration is required to plan attendance. Contact Diane Barbret or Sean Flaherty.
  • [6/7/2006] 1. Do not use fertilizer with phosphates in it. The phosphates cause nasty algae blooms in our ponds. 2. Slow release, granular fertilizer is the best! The fast release, liquid fertilizer washes off readily. Slow release fertilizer is also sometimes referred to as controlled release fertilizer. If your fertilizer is applied by a service, please talk to them about using phosphate free, slow release fertilizer.
